2000 Volkswagen AAC (All-Activity Concept)
The AAC (All-Activity Concept) study called Colorado introduced in sneak preview at the 2000 North American International Auto Show announces the utility vehicle that Volkswagen and Porsche will start producing some time in 2003.
For its first public outing, the Colorado concept was unveiled in the form of a light truck (not unlike Ford's Explorer Sport Trac), powered by a V10 turbo-diesel engine feeding 313 hp to 19-inch wheels through a semi-automatic Tiptronic-type six-speed transmission. Other engine options will be available on the Volkswagen version, including a 3.2-litre V6 (announced at 220 hp). Cabin decoration features an unusual blend of styles, featuring Alcantara, aluminum, wood and leather. The basic delivery is expected to involve more familiar materials, however.
