1999 Nissan SUT (Sport Utility Truck)
Nissan is back with another variation on the hybrid pickup theme: now the accent is on recreation. Its SUT (Sport Utility Truck) prototype is aimed at sports fanatics who would dearly love a versatile vehicle to transport bikes, snowboards and other kinds of bulky or awkward equipment.
The SUT is also the only vehicle (for the moment) to offer a storage space positioned between the cargo area and the passenger compartment. Why? To change the perception that this is a truck and to create a psychological effect by separating the vehicle's utilitarian space from its "human" space - in other words, to make sure that no one has to put grocery bags side-by-side with a lawnmower.
