2001 Isuzu GBX

The creation of this concept car was guided by the idea of providing consumers with a vehicle able to take their adventure gear anywhere, anytime and in any road or off road conditions.

This ATV, presented at the 2001 Detroit Auto Show, offers many special features such as huge 21-inch wheels, an all-purpose utility backdoor and cantilevered seats to ensure maximum cargo space for bulky things like skis or surfboards. But the major feature of this concept car is its exoskeleton: the gray mountings on the side and the top of the vehicle are actually its frame!

By placing the body inside of the frame, the engineers have not only created a very solid and rugged machine; they also have created a unique and catchy “gearbox” look.
